The Chunk Loaders datapack adds a “loadstone”: a lodestone that keeps its own chunk loaded until it is broken.
Make a loadstone
- Place a lodestone in the chunk you want to keep loaded.
- Drop a nether star above the lodestone to turn it into a chunk loader.
This is the Vanilla Tweaks datapack mechanic, not a recipe or interface from a similarly named mod.
Remove a loadstone
Break the loadstone to stop it from keeping its chunk loaded. The Nether Star is not returned when the loadstone is broken.
What to expect
The author’s description guarantees that the loadstone’s chunk stays loaded. It does not promise that every farm works without a nearby player. Player-dependent spawning and random-tick behavior should be checked for your particular farm rather than assumed.
Check with the owner before leaving many loaders active; no numerical server limit has been supplied.
